Friendly URLs or permalinks

Creating a friendly URL for SEO is one important step toward increasing traffic to your site.
The most effective way to create friendly SEO URL is to make it contain one or two of your most important target keywords and not exceed 160 characters.
Use dashes instead of the spaces between the words. Using the target keywords in page’s URL will improve ranking of the page.

“A permalink (portmanteau of permanent link) is a URL that points to a specific blog or forum entry after it has passed from the front page to the archives. Because a permalink remains unchanged indefinitely, it is less susceptible to link rot. Most modern weblogging and content-syndication software systems support such links. Other types of websites use the term permanent links, but the term permalink is most common within the blogosphere. Permalinks are often simply stated so as to be human-readable.”

Suspicious URLs

Website visitors ussually don’t like to click on unknown links, so exposing relevant keywords in your URL is one way to build trust with them.
Do not repeat keywords in the URL, or make them sound suspicious. Google might not punish you, but visitors might be less likely
to link to you or visit your site, if they see a seemingly suspicious link.
